A RESOLUTION REFERRING TO THE REGISTERED ELECTORS
OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, THE QUESTIONS
OF THE PROPOSED AHENmlENTS TO THE HOllE lWLE CHARTER
OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO.
WHEREAS. Sections 16.7 and 16.8 of the Home Rule Charter of
the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, provide for, and establish
procedures for, amendment of the Home Rule Charter of the
City of Wheat Ridge;
WHEREAS, petitions have been received by the City requesting
amendment of said Home Rule Charter by the addition of
provisions thereto;
WHEREAS, the City Council, pursuant to the provisions of
Section 16.8 of said Home Rule Charter and Section 2.2 of
the said Home Rule Charter, desires to submit the question
of said amendments to the registered electors of the City of
Wheat Ridge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, as follows:
1. There shall be placed upon the ballot at a special
municipal election on July 12, 1983, the question of whether
or not the amendments to the Home Rule Charter of the City
of Wheat Ridge proposed by petition shall be adopted.
2. Pursuant to Section 16.8 of the Home Rule Charter
of the City of Wheat Ridge, notice of said election shall be
published, which notice shall contain the full text of each
proposed Charter amendment. The City Clerk is expressly
authorized and directed to undertake proper publication of
said notice.
3. In the event that a majority of the registered
electors voting on the question of said proposed Charter
amendments vote for either or both of said proposed
amendments, either or both of said amendments receiving said
majority vote shall be deemed approved and shall become
effective on the date of election.
