Series of 1983
TITLE: AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT ENTITLED REQUEST FOR PAYMENT AND
CERTIFICATION OF USE OF FUNDS FOR THE INTERIOR
RENOVATION OF THE RICHARDS-HART MANSION.
WHEREAS, the citizens of Jefferson County passed an Open
Space Resolution on November 7, 1972; and
WHEREAS, the citizens amended said Resolution on November 4,
1980 to allow for maintenance and development of Open Space lands
and property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge wishes to renovate the
interior of the Richards-Hart Mansion; and
WHEREAS, this mansion lS to be used for Parks and Recreation
purposes; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Wheat Ridge
to enter into the Intergovernmental Agreement which is attached
to this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, Section 14.2 of the Home Rule Charter of the City
of Wheat Ridge authorizes the City of Wheat Ridge, by Resolution,
to enter into Intergovernmental Agreements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge that the Intergovernmental Agreement entitled
Request for Payment and Certification of Use of Funds, attached
to this Resolution be approved, and the Mayor be authorized to
sign said Intergovernmental Agreement.

REQUEST FOR PAYMENT AND
CERTIFICATION OF USE OF FUNDS
The City of Wheat Ridge hereby requests from the Board
of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, State of
Colorado, payment from the Jefferson County Open Space fund
in the amount of One Hundred Forty Thousand Four Hundred Sixty-
Eight Dollars and no Cents ($140,468.00), payable 100% from
funds received subsequent to January 1, 1981 and 100% from its
attributable share of Open Space funds, but not to exceed
the present portion of its attributable share received
subsequent to January 1, 1981.
This request constitutes a certification by the City
Council of Wheat Ridge, Colorado to the Board of County
Commissioners of Jefferson County that the City of Wheat Ridge
entered into a contract with Rudd Construction, Incorporated
on October 11, 1983, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A",
for the sum of One Hundred Forty Thousand Four Hundred Sixty-
Eight Dollars and no Cents ($140,468.00), for the interior
renovation of the Richards-Hart Mansion all of which constitute
purposes which are authorized by the Jefferson County Open
Space Resolution as adopted by the voters on November 7, 1972
and amended on November 4, 1980.
In the event the total cost of the contract work is less
than One Hundred Forty Thousand Four Hundred Sixty-Eight Dollars
and no Cents ($140,468.00), the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado
will refund the unexpended funds to Jefferson County within
30 days after the final cost under the contract is determined,
to be credited to the City of Wheat Ridge's attributable share
of the Jefferson County Open Space Fund.
