TITLE: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIIDffiN OF THE JEFFERSON
COUNTY EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVICE AUTHORITY BOARD TO
REQUEST, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, THAT
E9ll EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVICE BE PROVIDED WITHIN
THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE.
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge is party to an Intergovern-
mental Agreement authorizing the creation of an Emergency Telephone
Service Authority Board,
WHEREAS, the Emergency Telephone Service Authority Board
above described has been negotiating with Mountain Bell relating
to provision of E91l telephone service within Jefferson County,
including the City of Wheat Ridge,
WHEREAS, Mountain Bell, prior to providing such E91l service,
requires that each governmental entity to be served thereby review
the tariff to be charged by Mountain Bell and thereafter to authorize
the Chairman of the Jefferson County Emergency Telephone Service
Authority to request, on behalf of said municipality or entity,
that such service be provided,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge has
reviewed the tariff to be charged by Mountain Bell to provide
E91l service within the City of Wheat Ridge, and, after so doing,
wishes to authorize the Chairman of the Jefferson County Emergency
Telephone Service Authority to request, on behalf of the City of
Wheat Ridge, that such E9ll service be provided within the corporate
limits of the City of Wheat Ridge as a service and benefit to the
residents of the city,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, that authority is expressly delegated to the
Chairman of the Jefferson County Emergency Telephone Service Authority
to request, on behalf of the City of Wheat Ridge acting by and
through its duly elected and serving City Council, that E9ll
emergency telephone service be provided within, and for the benefit
of the residents of, the City of Wheat Ridge, and further that
said delegee be directed and instructed to request such service,
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk are authorized to execute this Resolution and to cause the
same to be delivered to the delegee specified herein.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 24th day of September, 1984.
