TITLE: RESOLUTION APPROVING INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT DENVER
REGIONAL COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS AND CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE FOR
AN ELEVATOR AND ESCALATOR SAFETY INSPELION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the State of Colorado discontinued its program of
elevator inspection for local governments several years ago; and
WHEREAS, at present there are 59 elevators and lifts In
the City of Wheat Ridge; and
WHEREAS, the first year of this program has proven success-
ful and resulted in corrections of equipment and provided safety
measures; and
WHEREAS, the Denver Regional Council of Governments has
the capability to administer the project and the City of Wheat
Ridge desires to have DRCOG act as its agent to coordinate the
project; and
WHEREAS, Section l4.2 of the Home Rule Charter of the City
of Wheat Ridge authorizes the City of Wheat Ridge, by Resolution,
to enter into Intergovernmental Agreements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge that the Intergovernmental Agreement entitled
Denver Regional Council of Governments Elevator and Escalator
Safety Inspection Program, attached to this Resolution be approved,
and the Mayor be authorized to sign said Intergovernmental Agreement.
DONE AND RESOLVED this l7th day of December, 1984.
