RESOLUTION NO. 964

TITLE: A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 1985 REVISED INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT FOR COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS IN JEFFERSON COUNTY,
COLORADO
WHEREAS, Article 27 of Title 17 of the 1973 Colorado
Revised Statutes, as amended, authorizes community correctional
facilities and programs; and
WHEREAS, said Article provides for participation by local
units of government in the creation and operation of such facilities
and programs; and
WHEREAS, said Article provides that local units of govern-
ment may establish a corrections board and may delegate to such
corrections board any powers necessary to accomplish its purpose; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge deemed
it appropriate to delegate its community corrections board powers
and authority to one unified, county-wide community corrections board
in Jefferson County as authorized by Resolution 932 approving the
Intergovernmental Agreement by and among the Cities of Wheat Ridge,
Arvada, Lakewood, and the County of Jefferson; and
WHEREAS, said Intergovernmental Agreement is being revised
to include the City of Golden; and
WHEREAS, Section 14.2 of the Home Rule Charter of the City
of Wheat Ridge authorizes the City of Wheat Ridge, by resolution,
to enter into intergovernmental agreements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE that the 1985 Revised Intergovernmental Agreement
for Community Corrections among the City of Wheat Ridge, County of
Jefferson, City of Arvada, City of Lakewood, and City of Golden,
which is attached hereto, be approved and that the Mayor and City
Clerk be authorized to sign said Intergovernmental Aqreement.
