TITLE:
RESOLUTION DECLARn](~ CITY COUNCIL I S OPPOSITION TO THE
INCLUSION OF WADSWORTH BOULEVARD AS A HAZARDOUS MATERIAL
ROUTE AS SUGGESTED BY THE CHIEF OF TRANSPORTATION, COLORADO
PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Fire Department has issued a
strong opposition to the inclusion of Wadsworth Boulevard as a
designated Hazardous Material Route; and
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Police Department has voiced
strong opposition to the inclusion of Wadsworth Boulevard as
a designated Hazardous Material Route; and
WHEREAS, Wadsworth Boulevard carries heavy and slow-
moving traffic and is in close proximity to residential areas
and Lutheran Hospital; and
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Commission of the State of
Colorado has requested comments, suggestions, objections, etc.
from involved cities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Wheat Ridge strongly opposes the inclusion of Wadsworth
Boulevard as a desiqnated Hazardous Material Route.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be forwarded
to the proper officials of the Public Utilities Commission of
the State of Colorado aDd implore that Wadsworth Boulevard not
be designated a Hazardous1aterial Route.
