TITLE:
RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ADOPTION OF S.B. 60 CONCERNING
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF VESTED REAL PROPERTY RIGHTS.
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge has
reviewed proposed S.B. 60, Concerning The Establishment Of Vested
Real property Rights, and has further reviewed and considered the
arguments in favor of and opposed to adoption of said bill;
WHEREAS after said consideration, the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge feels that no need has been shown or
established for adoption of S.B. 60 as a matter of statewide
concern, which would thereby operate as a limitation upon the
power of statutory and home rule cities to legislate on issues
which have been consistently found to be matters of purely local
concern;
WHEREAS upon said consideration, the City of Wheat Ridge
feels that adoption of Senate Bill 60 with all of its
ramifications and consequences could, under certain
circumstances, lead both to inefficient or reluctant local land
use regulation and to resultant adverse consequences upon
economic development;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge is opposed
to enactment of S.B. 60 and urges all members of the General
Assembly to vote against its adoption, and further urges the
Governor to veto S.B. 60 should it be adopted by the General
Assembly. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute
this Resolution and forward a copy of the same to all members of
the Colorado General Assembly.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 23rd day of February, 1987.
