HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1987-1054 RESOLUTION NO. 1054 Series of 1987 TITLE: RESOLUTION HONORING HOWARD JAQUAY FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO WHEREAS, Howard Jaquay was called upon during the spring and summer of 1987 to perform the duties both of Chief of Police and Acting City Administrator within the City of Wheat Ridge; and WHEREAS, being asked to perform either of those tasks, let alone both tasks simultaneously, constitutes cruel and unusual punish- ment; and WHEREAS, Howard Jaquay, disregarding safety of body or sanity of mind, admirably and meritoriously performed each function in an outstanding manner; and WHEREAS, the fact that Howard Jaquay was able to manage the Wheat Ridge funny farm and keep the City Council at bay proves con- clusively that the only truly effective way to manage the City of Wheat Ridge and its elected officials is to wear, and to constantly and conspicuously display, a loaded weapon; and WHEREAS, Howard Jaquay has earned the respect of the elected officials, employees and citizens of the City of Wheat Ridge through his constant integrity and dedication, as well as his effective stewardship during a difficult interim period; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY A VOTE OF ZERO IN FAVOR AND EIGHT OPPOSED, THAT THE ELECTED OFFICIALS, EMPLOYEES, AND CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, DO HEREBY RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND HOWARD JAQUAY FOR HIS MERITORIOUS SERVICE TO THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE AND FOR A JOB VERY WELL DONE AS ACTING CITY ADMINISTRATOR. 26th DONE and RESOLVED this day of October, 1987. ~~ Wandil Sang, ~~~ City ~ k ~~xI~ Frank Stites, Mayor g~t~~ tr'a m e sO.
