WHEREAS, Wheat Ridge residents are increasingly concerned
about our air qual ity; and
WHEREAS, ~heat Ridge currently exceeds clean air health
standerds fcr carbon monoxide pollution; end
WHEREAS, motor vehicles produce 757 of the region's
cerbon monoxide;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Council encourage Wheat
Ridge residents, on a purely voluntary basis, to leave their cars
at home one day a week from November 2 to January 29 and to
refra in from idl inq cars for no longer than 5 minutes on days
when they do drive and It is a high pollution day.

cancel or postpone nonessential trips on high air pollution days.
