RESOLUTION NO. 1282
A resolution authorizing an Adopt-a-Road program relating to litter
removal from City of Wheat Ridge rights-of-way.
WHEREAS, volunteer groups within the City of Wheat Ridge are
willing to participate in an Adopt-a-Road program for litter
removal from city streets;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the
best interest of the City of Wheat Ridge to authorize an Adopt-a-
Road program to aid in keeping city streets free of litter.
NOW, therefore, be it resolved by the City council of the City
of Wheat Ridge, that:
section 1. The City council does hereby establish an Adopt-a-
Road program whereby civic-minded volunteer groups can contribute
to the city's effort of maintaining litter free streets.
section 2. As part of the Adopt-a-Road program, the
Department of Public Works will work with the volunteer groups to
establish street segments within the City of Wheat Ridge which
shall be adopted by the volunteer groups. The city will post signs
at each end of the Adopt-a-Road segment identifying the group that
will maintain the street.
section 3. The volunteers who become a part of the Adopt-a-
Road program are recognized as "authorized volunteers" as defined
is section 24-10-108, CRS, for the purpose of coming within the
protection of the city's insurance program.
section 4. The Adopt-a-Road volunteers will be required to
observe safety regulations. These regulations will be provided to
the volunteer group by the city. Distribution of said regulations
to individual volunteers will be the responsibility of the
authority of the volunteer group whose signature appears on the
agreement between the volunteer group and the City.
