TITLE:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF THE JEFFERSON
COUNTY OPEN SPACE APPLICATION AND MERIT EVALUATION FOR
THE 1993 DEVELOPMENT JOINT VENTURE/GRANT PROJECT REQUEST
FOR THE RESTORATION 'OF THE WHEAT RIDGE HISTORIC POST
OFFICE.
WHEREAS, the voters of Jefferson County voted on November
4, 1980 to allow for maintenance and development of Open Space
lands and property; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Open Space has instituted
a Joint Venture/Grant Project program; and
WHEREAS, the city of Wheat Ridge has park improvement
project needs that are beyond our means; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has the opportunity to
enter into a Joint Venture/Grant Project with Jefferson County Open
Space for joint funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat
Wheat Ridge Historical society in
Historical Post Office; and
Ridge desires to assist the
restoring the Wheat Ridge
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Historical society has applied
for a State Historical Fund Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge desires to administer
both Grants under a contract negotiated with the Wheat Ridge
Historical society.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Wheat
Ridge submit the Jefferson County Open Space Application and Merit
Evaluation for a 1993 development joint venture/grant project for
the restoration of the Wheat Ridqe Historic Post Office; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City of Wheat Ridge will
negotiate with the Wheat Ridge Historical society to agree upon a
contract to allow the City of Wheat Ridge to administer the State
Historical Fund Grant and the Jefferson County Open Space Joint
venture/Grant. said Contract will be presented to the Wheat Ridge
City Council for approval upon notification of award of both
grants.
