TITLE:
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE WHEAT
RIDGE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT'S 1994 STRATEGIC PLAN AND
ENDORSING THE FIRE DISTRICT'S CAPITAL PROJECT FUNDING
STRATEGY
WHEREAS, the city council has reviewed the Wheat Ridge Fire
Protection District strategic Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council commends the efforts of the Wheat
Ridge Fire Protection District to improve the management and
operation of the Fire District in the interest of better serving
the community and its needs with respect to the delivery of fire
services; and
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District has
adequately demonstrated the need to modernize its fire apparatus
fleet, communication system and buildings and that there is a
deficiency in funds for the capital improvement budget; and
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District's 1994
strategic Plan is a proactive approach to long range planning and
is vital to the ongoing commitment to provide; emergency services
to the community of Wheat Ridge at the lowest possible cost;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE CITY
COUNCIL THAT:
1. The city Council supports the implementation of the Wheat
Ridge Fire Protection District's long range strategic plan as an
effective means to provide quality emergency services at the lowest
cost; and
2. The City Council supports the Wheat Ridge Fire District
Board of Directors decision to fund the capital improvement fund,
which will be presented to the electorate in the 1994 Fall
election.
DONE AND RESOLVED this 25th day of July, 1994.
