TITLE:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF THE APPLICATION FOR
THE 1995 JOINT VENTURE/GRANT PROJECT TO JEFFERSON COUNTY
OPEN SPACE - DEVELOPMENT OF AN EXPANSION TO PROSPECT
PARK, THE ROCK-GILLHOUSE PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the voters of Jefferson county voted on November
4, 1980 to allow for maintenance and development of Open Space
lands and property; and
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Open Space has instituted
a Joint venture/Grant Project program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has park improvement
project needs that are beyond our means; and
WHEREAS, the city of Wheat Ridge has the opportunity to
enter into a Joint venture/Grant project with Jefferson county open
Space for joint funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WHEAT RIDGE CITY
COUNCIL THAT:
1) The city of Wheat Ridge apply for a 1995 Joint
Venture/Grant Project for the development of an
expansion to Prospect Park. on the Rock-Gillhouse
properties.
2) The City will request a 50%/50% Joint Venture/Grant
in the amount of $200,000 from Jefferson County
share of the Open Space Fund and $200,000 from City
of Wheat Ridge share of the Open Space Fund. The
total project to be $400,000.
