RESOLUTION NO. 1470

TITLE:
A RESOLUTION CANCELLING THE MAY 2, 1995 CANDIDATE
ELECTION AND DECLARING A CANDIDATE ELECTED.
WHEREAS, a special election was scheduled by the Wheat
Ridge City council for May 2, 1995 in order to fill a vacancy in
council District IV; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has duly enacted an emergency
ordinance enabling a candidate election to be cancelled in the
event there are not more candidates than offices to be filled at
such election, and in the event there are not qualified write-in
candidates for said election; and
WHEREAS, no write-in candidates have identified their
intention to seek the District IV Council Office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge, that:
1. The special election scheduled for May 2, 1995 is
hereby cancelled; and
2. Teri (Teresa) Dalbec as the sole declared candidate
for the District IV City Council vacancy is hereby
declared elected pursuant to the provisions of the
emergency ordinance amending section 7-40 of the
Wheat Ridge City Code of Laws.
