RESOLUTION NO 1497
TITLE: A RESOLUTION LOWERING THE THRESHOLD OF EXPENDITURE
OF FUNDS BY STAFF TO $800.00 WITHOUT COUNCIL APPROVAL.
WHEREAS: Expenditu re of funds have recently been made contrary to Council
policy; and
WHEREAS: Funds approved by Council for a specific project have been split
and maneuvered so as to appear to be under the current
threshold of $2,500.00; and
WHEREAS: The recent expenditure by staff of funds that were specifically
approved for Christmas lights were used for under-grounding
electrical wiring and upgrading the electrical circuits at the
Municipal Building; and
WHEREAS: This expenditure totaled over the threshold of the allowable
$2,.500.00;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT
From this date forward all expenditures of funds over $800.00 must come to the City
Council for a majority vote before such funds may be spent.
