HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1995-1503 RESOLUTION # 1503 SERIES 1995 TITLE: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN THE AGREEMENT FOR THE DENVER URBAN RESOURCES PARTNERSHIP PROJECT GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000 TO PROVIDE HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY AT THE WHEAT RIDGE HAPPINESS GARDENS. WHEREAS, the City of wheat Ridge desires to make the Wheat Ridge Happiness Gardens handicap accessible; and WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge has been awarded a Denver Urban Resources Partnership Project Grant to provide concrete pathways, raised garden plots, a handicap ramp on street sidewalk, and to improve the parking lot in the amount of $10,000; and WHEREAS, these improvements can be completed in the 1996 budget year. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE CITY COUNCIL that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the Agreement for the Denver Urban Resources Partnership Project Grant in the amount of $10,000 to provide handicap accessibility at the Wheat Ridge Happiness Gardens. DONE AND RESOVLED this 11 th Day of Opc:pmhpr , 1 9.9.5.- ATTEST: ~jJ,.-(d-<j Dan Wilde, Mayor I .- Wanda Sang, City Clerk /1 ~ DENVER URBAN RESOURCES PARTNERSHIP PROJECT GRANT THIS AGREEMENT, made this.Jl day of Dee. 1995, by and between, City of Wheat Ridge - Community Garden Accessibility (29) hereinafter referred to as the PROJECT, and DENVER URBAN RESOURCES PARTNERSHIP, hereinafter referred to as the GRANTEE. WHEREAS, the GRANTEE has funds and expertise to assist selected PROJECTS, and WHEREAS, the GRANTEE is obligated to encumber funds for projects which affect Denver's urban ecosystem, and WHEREAS, the PROJECT submitted a grant application which was reviewed and accepted, and WHEREAS, the PROJECT has the capability and knowledge to provide ecosystem improvements or education as stated in the application, NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby agreed that: 1 PROJECT warrants that the Project Coordinator has the authority to act in behalf of the PROJECT 2. PROJECT grants to GRANTEE the right visit and review project site(s) 3 PROJECT agrees to complete the work and activities as described on the attached Grant Application. 4 PROJECT agrees to follow accepted natural resource implementation methods, as approved III the Grant Application, and to direct any questions relating to project implementatIOn to the GRANTEE through the Partnership Coordinator at the following address Thad Cumrmns Denver Urban Resources Partnership Governor's Community Partnership Office 140 East 19th Avenue, # 1 00 Denver, CO 80203 303/894-2750 Office 303/894-2759 FAX 303/909-0576 Cellular III C \THAO\LEGAL\OURP FRM 5 The PROJECT agrees to submit a quarterly progress report describing efforts made toward project completion, funds expended, and in-kind matches. 6 The PROJECT agrees as part of this Agreement that it will comply with all applicable laws regarding discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, or handicap including but not limited to Executive Order 11246 as amended or as may be further amended hereafter. 7 GRANTEE agrees to provide technical assistance on natural resources to the PROJECT when asked and when available for such request. 8 GRANTEE agrees to grant $ 10,000 to the PROJECT in payments according to the following schedule.
