TITLE:
A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO,
AND THE CITY OF ARVADA, COLORADO, IN SUPPORT OF A
PERMANENT FACILITY FOR RED ROCKS COMMUNITY COLLEGE AT THE
RIDGE HOME PROJECT

providing
WHEREAS, the City councils of the city of wheat Ridge and
of Arvada recognize the benefits to be derived from
affordable higher education for its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the existing Red rocks community College campus
which is located in Arvada is reaching its capacity and more space
is urgently needed in light of projections for larger enrollments
in the near future; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Wheat Ridge and Arvada are working
cooperatively to secure a permanent structure to meet all citizen
needs; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Wheat Ridge and Arvada wish to
show their support for the necessary funding by the state
legislature to construct a new facility for Red Rocks Community
College on the Ridge Home property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARVADA, COLORADO, AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, THAT:
section 1. The cities of Wheat Ridge and Arvada support the
construction of a new facility at the Ridge Home property for the
purpose of establishing a new structure for the Red Rocks Community
College and the city Councils urge the Colorado Legislature to fund
such construction.
Section 2. This resolution shall be effective upon its approval by
the city council.
