TITLE:
RESOLUTION AMENDING PAWN SHOP TRANSACTION FEES
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge provides for the
licensing and regulation of pawn shops in Section 11-170 of the
Wheat Ridge City Code; and
WHEREAS, section 11-173 of the Wheat Ridge city Code
permits the establishment of fees for pawn broking businesses to be
established by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the current per transaction fee is judged to be
insufficient to properly reimburse the City for expenditures
associated with the processing of pawn shop transactions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City
Council that the per transaction fee for pawn broking businesses
wi thin the City of Wheat Ridge be increased from 60 cents per
transaction to $1.00 per transaction effective March 1, 1997.
