RESOLUTION NO 1594
TITLE
A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO WITHDRAW FROM THE STATEWIDE
DEATH AND DISABILITY PLAN FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING
PARTICIPATION IN AN ALTERNATIVE DEATH AND DISABILITY PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge desires to withdraw from participation in the statewide
death and disability plan for the purpose of electing participation in an alternative plan, in accordance
with applicable law, and the regulations of the Fire and Police Pension Association ("FPPA"), and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge desires that the withdrawal be effective on January 1,
1998 or such earlier date as may be permitted by applicable laws and regulations and approved by the
FPP A in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED'
1 That the City of Wheat Ridge intends to withdraw its members from participation in the
statewide death and disability plan for the purpose of electing participation in the alternative
death and disability plan in accordance with applicable laws and FPP A regulations;
2. That, following the filing of this Resolution with FPPA, the City of Wheat Ridge shall
conduct an appropriate election of its eligible members in accordance with Title 31, Article
31, Part 8 of the Colorado Revised Statutes and Rule 609 of the FPP A rules and regulations,
3 That this Resolution of intent to withdraw is passed by the Wheat Ridge City Council in full
compliance with its rules and bylaws and with the knowledge that, although the withdrawal IS
subject to a vote of the members, approval of the disclosure certificate by the FPP A Board of
Directors, and compliance with applicable statutes and regulations, this Resolution constitutes
the Wheat Ridge City Council's approval of the withdrawal,
4 That this Resolution of intent to withdraw shall be certified and transmitted to the FPP A for
processing in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, and,
5 That the requested withdrawal date is January 1, 1998 or such earlier date as may be
permitted by applicable laws and regulations,
