RESOLUTION NO 1598
Series of 1997
TITLE
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE PRIDE OF WHEAT RIDGE AWARD
WHEREAS, residents in and employees of organizations located in the City of
Wheat Ridge who give of their time, energy, talent and compassion for the betterment of the
community should be recognized for those contributions, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to create an award which recognizes the
unique contributions made by these members of the Wheat Ridge community, and
WHEREAS, said award should be available for the City Council and the Mayor
to confer upon eligible groups and individuals,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council
There is hereby created the" Pride of Wheat Ridge A ward"
2 The Pride of Wheat Ridge Award may be awarded by the City Council
and the Mayor to individuals or groups within the Wheat Ridge community deemed eligible
based on anyone or more of the following
a Individual or group contributions, activities, or achievements
which uniquely benefit the Wheat Ridge community
b Individual or group contributions, activities or achievements which
deserve recognition as demonstrating individual, neighborhood or community
pride, spirit or excellence
c Acts of bravery, honesty, or achievement which reflect well upon
the Wheat Ridge community as a whole
d Other acts, achievements, or contributions deemed meritorious
by the City Council
3 The City Manager shall poll the Council and Mayor for initial support prior
to scheduling formal approval of the award and shall coordinate dissemination of information
to all members of Council

4 The City Council and the Mayor may, from time to time, confer the Pride
of Wheat Ridge Award upon such groups or individuals as it deems eligible, and may choose,
in their discretion, to memorialize the award by proclamation, gift, or other appropriate means
