HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1997-1623 CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 1623 Series of 1997 TITLE: A RESOLUTION REFERRING A BALLOT QUESTION TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY AT THE NOVEMBER 4, 1997, GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION, CONCERNING REVENUE IN EXCESS OF CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITATIONS RECEIVED IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1996 WHEREAS, there will be a general municipal election in the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, on November 4, 1997; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that retention of funds received in the fiscal year ending December 31, 1996, is more advantageous to the residents of the city than a refund of said funds; and WHEREAS, the city Council wishes to refer a ballot question to the voters of the city at the November 4, 1997, general municipal election for this purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City council, that the following ballot question be referred to the voters of the city of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, at the November 4, 1997, general municipal election: Shall the city of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, be authorized to retain and spend for use in the construction and operation of a Recreation Center or the Teen Center, $27,578, received in the fiscal year ending December 31, 1996, which has been determined to be in excess of the limitations imposed by Article X, Section 20, of the Colorado Constitution?
