TITLE
A RESOLUTION LEVYING GENERAL PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE
YEAR OF 1997. TO HELP DEFRAY THE COSTS OF GOVERNMENT FOR
THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO FOR THE 1998 BUDGET
YEAR.
WHEREAS, the City CouncIl of the CIty of Wheat Ridge wIll adopt the arumal
budget m accordance with the Local Government Budget Law, and,
WHEREAS, the Local Government Budget Law reqUIres certIficatIOn of the
annual property tax mIillevy by December 15_ 1997, and,
WHEREAS, the amount of money needed to balance the budget for general
operatmg expenses from property tax sources IS $626,706, and,
WHEREAS, the 1997 valuation for assessment for the City of Wheat Ridge as
certItied by the County Assessor IS $255,527,270 and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE'
A. That for the purpose of meetmg all general operatmg expenses of the City of
Wheat RIdge dunng the 1998 budget year, there IS hereby leVIed a tax of 2.4526 mIlls upon each
dollar ofthe total valuation for assessment of all taxable property withm the CIty of Wheat RIdge
of the year of 1997
B That the Mayor of the City of the Wheat Ridge is hereby authonzed and
dlrectcd to ImmedIately certIfy to the County CommiSSIOners of Jefferson County, Colorado the
111111 levy for the CIty of Wheat RIdge as hereinabove determmed and set.
DONE AND RESOLVED THE 8th DAY OF DECEMBER, 1997
