RESOLUTION # 1658
SERIES OF 1998
TITLE:
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION OF A CLEAR
CREEK LEGACY GRANT APPLICATION TO GREAT OUTDOORS
COLORADO BY JEFFERSON COUNTY.
WHEREAS, The Great Outdoors Colorado program has established a Legacy Program
to preserve areas of state wide significance in Colorado, and,
WHEREAS, The Clear Creek Corridor has state wide significance for its wild life
habitat, endangered species habitat, scenic, historic, and recreational value,
and,
WHEREAS, The City of Wheat Ridge in conjunction with Jefferson County and the
other partners desire to preserve the Clear Creek Corridor for future
generations, and,
WHEREAS, The City of Wheat Ridge has park land acquisitions, wildlife habitat
enhancement and protection, environmental education and park
development needs beyond its financial abilities,
NOW THERE FORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat
Ridge that:
1) The City of Wheat Ridge endorses the effort to preserve the Clear Creek Corridor
2) The City of Wheat Ridge supports the submission ofthe Clear Creek Legacy Grant
Application to Great Outdoors Colorado by Jefferson County
