RESOLUTION NO 05-2000

TITLE: A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A MUL TI- YEAR GRANT FROM THE COLORADO
HISTORICAL FUND FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE RICHARD-HART ESTATE
WHEREAS, the Richard-Hart Estate IS located at West 28th Avenue and Benton in the
City of Wheat Ridge, and
WHEREAS, the Richard-Hart Estate was purchased by the City of Wheat Ridge in 1977,
and placed upon the National Register as the Richards MansIOn; and
WHEREAS, Andrews & Anderson, P C. have prepared a draft of a Needs Assessment
report, pursuant to a SHF mini-grant; and
WHEREAS, the Richard Hart Estate Advisory Committee would like to restore the Estate
where there is deteriorated or damaged interior and exterior elements. and
WHEREAS, the Colorado State Historical Fund received a grant applications to restore the
Estate and awarded the City with a grant in the amount of $116,250 for a total project cost of
$155,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT'
The City of Wheat Ridge accepts the Colorado Historical Society multi-year grant
for the RIchards-Hart Estate for the purpose of restoration of the deteriorated or
damaged interior and exterior elements.
2. The Mayor is authorized to sign all documents necessary to accept the grant.
3. The funds shall be encumbered for the length of the project which expressly allows
the expenditure of funds in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003 for the project in
accordance with Ordinance number 787, 1989 series.
4 The City of Wheat RIdge Budget for the fiscal year 2000 shall be amended to reflect
the receIpt of grant funds to and expenditures from Fund 34, the Richard Hart
Estate Fund.
