TITLE: A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AN EXTENSION Of THE CONTRACT
WITH GOCO (GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO) fOR THE CONSTRUCTION Of
PHASE II Of THE MANWARING FIELD
WHEREAS, Great Outdoor Colorado (GOCO) awarded the CIty of Wheat RIdge
a grant m the amount of $56,250 for the purposes of constructmg Phase II of the
ManwarIng field; and
WHEREAS, Wheat Ridge accepted the grant m January, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the executed grant agreement provides for completion of Phase II of
the ManwarIng field on or before June 1, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Wheat RIdge City Council, dUrIng 1999, dId not reach a super
maJority as required for the demolition of the Jaidmger House and the Wheat RIdge
SanitatIOn BUlldmg These buildings are located on the ManwarIng field property so
that Phase II of the Manwaring field could not designed or constructed until the CIty
Council deCIsion was final; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat RIdge has passed on March 27, 2000 an ordmance
resolving the demohtion of the buildmgs; and
WHEREAS, the City wIll begin the design and construction of Phase II of the
ManwarIng field immedIately but do not anticipate completIOn of the constructIOn untIl
May,200l.
NOW THEREfORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1 The City of Wheat Ridge requests that GOCO grant an extensIOn of the
ManwarIng field contract (Contract # 9294) untIl June 1,2001 to submIt
the final report and closing documentatIOn.
2 The CIty of Wheat Ridge fiscal year 2000 Budget be amended accordingly
