TITLE:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
SIGN THE CONTRACT TO BUY AND SELL REAL ESTATE FOR THE
PURCHASE OF 5.24 ACRES PROPERTY MORE OR LESS LOCATED AT
3705 JAY STREET, (THE DAVIS PROPERTY), TO AUTHORIZE THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN THE JEFFERSON COUNTY
ENVIRONMENTAL INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS
AGREEMENT FOR SAID PROPERTY AND TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT
OF FUNDS TO PURCHASE THE 5.24 ACRES OF PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 3705 JAY STREET, THE DAVIS PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, The property located at 3705 Jay Street IS located m Wheat RIdge where addItIonal
park land IS desIred, and
WHEREAS, The CIty CounCIl has determmed that the acqulSltlOn ofthe property located at 3705
Jay Street IS a hIgh pnonty; and
WHEREAS, The CIty CouncIl has revIewed the appraIsal
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE CITY
COUNCIL THAT:
1) Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the contract to buy and sell real estate for
the purchase ofthe property located at 3705 Jay Street, the Davis Property.
2) The Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the Jefferson County Environmental
and Hold Harmless Agreement.
3) Approve the Assignment ofthe Contract to Jefferson County for the purpose of closing
the purchase only.
4) The payment of the $20, 000.00 Earnest money be approved to Land Title from
Account 32-601-809.
5) Approve the payment of25% ofthe total acquisition cost, not to exceed $146,000.00 to
Land Title Guarantee from Account 32-601-809 for the acquisition of the Davis
Property located at 3705 Jay Street.
6) Request payment of 75% of the acquisition cost from the Wheat Ridge Share of the
Jefferson co~nt :':tr~~c.e Bond Funds.
