TITLE:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUPPORT OF AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR A MILE
HIGH COMPACT TO SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE THE
MANAGEMENT OF GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT IN
THE DENVER METROPOLlT AN REGION
WHEREAS, the cttles and counties in the Denver Metropolitan Region have recogmzed
that managmg growth and development is essential to resolve the Issues affectlllg neighboring
junsdlctions and the region, and
WHEREAS, the Metro Vision 2020 Plan provides a regIOnal framework for local
deCIsions on growth and development within the metropolitan region whIch Plan was established
by the Denver Regional Council of Governments of which the CIty of Wheat Ridge is a member;
and
WHEREAS, the CIty Council recogmzes the benefits to the CIty of Wheat Rtdge to
Illustrate a commItment to support the concepts of consistent and coordmated comprehenSIve
plans and master plans for the orderly management of growth and development of the regIOn as
outlined m the proposed Intergovernmental Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat
Ridge, Colorado, that:
I. The CIty Council supports the Denver RegIOnal Council of Governments effort to
prepare an mtergovernmental agreement that will encourage maintaming a high
standard for quality of lIfe issues and which promotes the management of growth
and development of the Denver MetropolItan Area.
