TITLE:
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 909,
SERIES 1984, AND RESOLUTION NO. 1498, SERIES 1995,
PURCHASING POLICY
BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. Paragraph 4 of Resolution 909, Series 1984, IS hereby amended to read as follows:
4. Sealed competitive bidding IS required on all purchases of supplies, materials,
equipment, or projects in excess of Five-Thousand Dollars ($5,000). Professional or
consultative services or technical services of regulated public utilities or other
governmental agencies are exempted from this policy State Bid prices and bids by other
government entities on all supplies, materials, or equipment may be used in lieu of a
sealed bidding by the City when such purchases are in the best interests of the City of
Wheat Ridge. Labor and matenals are considered job bids, and shall be evaluated on a
total lump sum basis. Gasoline purchases and postage are exempt.
2. Paragraph 10 of Resolution 1498, Series 1995, is hereby amended to read as follows:
10. Each purchase reqmsition exceeding One-Thousand Dollars ($1,000) must be
approved by the appropriate Department Head and/or City Manager prior to placing any
purchase order All purchase orders over Five-Thousand Dollars ($5,000) in value must
go through a formal competitive bidding process and shall be presented to the City
Council for official decision and award.
