WHEREAS, the City of Wheat RIdge entered I11to a financIal agreement 111 1998 to secure fundmg for the constructIon of a recreatIon center located 111 the CIty of Wheat RIdge WHEREAS, the City receIved funds from the sale of the seCUrIties wlthm the tinanclal agreement, whIch are subject to Internal Revenue Service arbItrage regulations 'WHEREAS, the CIty wishes to comply \vIth IRS regulatIons and remIt the appropnate momes to the United States Treasury NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, as follows: A. The City of Wheat Ridge hereby authonzes payment of the arbItrage profit to the UnIted States Treasury and authorIzmg payment to Bond LOglstlx, LLC for performing the rebate calculatIOns. B The CIty of Wheat RIdge tlscal year RecreatIOn Center Budget be amended accordmgly, speclfically transferring $26,049 23 from the RecreatIon Center Operatmg Fund unallocated reserves into account 64-602-700-750 ATTEST: ~ I .,::A~.) cl)/~C Wanda Sang, City Cler0 RESOLUTION NO. 04-2003 SERIES OF 2003 TITLE: A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE GREAT OUTDOOR COLORADO GRANT APPLICATION FOR FUNDS TO RECONSTRUCT THE STEVENS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge CIty Park Master Plan Goals call for a balanced and equitable park and recreation system responsive to all age groups and user groups; and WHEREAS, there is a demand for playground areas withm the City; and WHEREAS, Jefferson County R-l School District and Stevens Elementary School desires to reconstruct the playground at Stevens Elementary School site; and WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge deSIres to assIst with the reconstructIOn of the playground at the Stevens Elementary School site; and WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge will be the applicant to Great Oudoors Colorado for grant funding; and WHEREAS, the CIty shall administer the GOCO grant in accordance with provIsions of GOCO grant agreement contract number 9243; and WHEREAS, the City may observe construction of all on-site development improvements at its discretion. The City may notifY the DIstrict in writing of any concerns; and WHEREAS, the playground will be open to the public, thereby meeting the parks and recreation needs of the community; and WHEREAS, Amendment 8 was passed by the Colorado voters in November, 1993, establishing Great Outdoors Colorado and designating lottery proceeds as a funding mechanism for parks and recreation projects. Therefore, GOCO established a grant program for local governments to meet the parks and recreational needs of communities. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE CITY COUNCIL to support the grant application to Great Outdoors Colorado for the Stevens Elementary School Playground Reconstruction.
