TITLE:
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2006
GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO REFLECT THE
APPROVAL OF A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET
APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 FOR
ACCEPTANCE OF THE COLORADO REGIONAL
POLICING INSTITUTE GRANT
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge applied for and was awarded a grant to
assist the Wheat Ridge Police Department in enhancing its crime prevention and school
resource officer programs; and
WHEREAS, the enhanced crime prevention and school resource officer
programs will allow the Wheat Ridge Police Department to form a partnership with
Wheat Ridge High School to implement Youth Risk Management and Crime Awareness
courses; and
WHEREAS, course curriculum will mcIude drug and alcohol education, crime
awareness and prevention, dangerous datmg and domestic violence, cyber-safety,
bullying, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention demonstrations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept the grant in the amount of $2,000;
and
WHEREAS, the Wheat Ridge Charter requires that amendments to the budget be
effected by the City Council adopting a Resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge, Colorado, as follows:
A. The City hereby accepts the grant.
B The City Manager is authorized to execute all documents necessary for the
acceptance of the award.
C. Upon receipt of the funds, that the funds be placed m the general fund.
D The City of Wheat Ridge fiscal year 2006 General Fund budget be
amended accordingly, specifically adding $2,000 into the Police
Department expense account 01-201-650-660
DONE AND RESOLVED THIS 12th day of June 2006.
