RESOLUTION 11-2007
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL
OF THE MILE HIGH COMPACT
WHEREAS, the cities and counties in the Denver Metropolitan Region have
recognized that planned growth and development are essential to resolve the issues
affecting neighboring jurisdictions and the region as a whole; and
WHEREAS, Metro Vision 2020 provides a regional framework for local
decisions on growth and development within the metropolitan region; and
WHEREAS, the first Metro Vision plan was adopted by the Denver Regional
Council of Governments, of which the City of Wheat Ridge is a member; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the benefits to the City of Wheat Ridge
for signing the Mile High Compact and accordingly desires to enter voluntarily and
collaboratively as a party to the Mile High Compact and thereby demonstrates its
commitment to supporting consistent and coordinated comprehensive plans and master
plans for orderly growth and development in the Denver Metropolitan Region;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge, Colorado as follows:
1. The City Council endorses the principles contained in the Mile High
Compact and approves that document for the benefit of the citizens of the
City of Wheat Ridge.
2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to sign the Mile High
Compact on behalf of the Wheat Ridge City Council.
