HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2008-0052CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 52-2008 TITLE: A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN JEFFERSON COUNTY, THE CITY OF ARVADA, THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, THE CITY OF GOLDEN, AND THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A COUNTY-WIDE DOG LICENSING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge entered into an Agreement dated June 20, 2007, entitled an Intergovernmental Agreement between Jefferson County, the City of Arvada, the City of Lakewood, the City of Wheat Ridge, the City of Golden, and the City of Westminster for the Implementation of a County-wide Dog Licensing Program (the "Agreement"); and WHEREAS, the Agreement provided for, among other things, the collection of dog licensing fees to be used in the following manner: 1. For the County's administrative cost to operate the dog licensing program; 2. For additional funds to be used principally for the construction of a new facility for Table Mountain Animal Center ("TMAC") or for capital improvements or maintenance of the current TMAC facility; 3. For certain excess funds to be dispersed by the County to the participating jurisdictions; and WHEREAS, the participating jurisdictions wish to amend the Agreement to provide that, except for the County's administrative cost to operate the dog licensing program, the dog licensing fees shall be used for the construction, operation, maintenance and replacement of a new facility for Table Mountain Animal Center ("TMAC") or for capital improvements or maintenance of the current TMAC facility; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, that: SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute and the City Clerk to attest an Amendment to the Agreement, in form approved by the City Attorney, for the purpose of providing that dog licensing fees, except for the County's administrative cost to operate the dog licensing program, shall be used for the construction, operation, maintenance, and replacement of a new facility for TMAC or for capital improvements or maintenance of the TMAC current facility.
